Maintain real-time coordination: Bhatnagar to forces

Srinagar: Advisor to Lt Governor Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar on Thursday asked the security agencies to maintain coordination between them for better results.
Chairing a security review alongside Director General of Police Dilbag Singh in south Kashmir’s Anantnag, he reiterated the vital importance of maintaining a close watch on the “inimical elements”.
Bhatnagar hailed the police and other forces in maintaining peace and stability in south Kashmir. “The advisor asked the officers to enhance their investigation skills on modern lines and also laid stress on the preventive measures to minimize the crime rate,” said a police spokesperson.
During the meeting, the DGP complimented police personnel, security forces, intelligence agencies for achieving highest degree of synergy and coordination and efficiently handling the security situation in south Kashmir.
“There is a need to be more vigilant and cautious in view of the possibility of terrorists attempting to disrupt the existing peace in J&K saying that continuous attempts are being made by elements across the border to create trouble here,” said Singh.
According to him, police along with other security forces have been achieving good results in recent times and added that there is a need to continue good work with enhanced coordination to defeat the elements who want to disrupt peace and tranquillity in the region, the spokesperson added.
Singh directed the officers to deal efficiently against the social crime including drug trafficking, crime against women and children and other heinous crime and keep all types of crimes under check.
On the occasion, the DGP also asked officers to remain prepared for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra and directed them to submit the requirements to police headquarters so as smooth conduct of Yatra is ensured.
The meeting was attended by IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, DIG south Kashmir, Atul Goel, SSP Anantnag Sandeep Choudhary, SSP Awantipora Tahir Saleem Khan, SSP Pulwama, Ashish Kumar Mishra, SSP Kulgam, Gurinderpal Singh, SSP Shopian, Amritpal Singh, Commandants of CRPF posted in south Kashmir and all the SDPOs of Anantnag.
