Contractual lecturers protest, demand regularisation

SRINAGAR: All J&K 10+2 contractual lecturers association on Wednesday held a protest here in Srinagar demanding regularisation of their services.
Scores of lectures from various district of the Kashmir valley assembled here in Press enclave and chanting slogans “we want justice”, “framing of secure job policy for 10+2 lecturers” and “save youth save nation”.
They said that they are demanded continuation and secure job under any existing or new SRO on fast track basis.
“The totally dubbed the recommendations of the committee headed by FC finance and called those recommendations another grand injustice for the highly qualified scholars, who served the department from last 15 years,” they said.
Farooz Ahmad Bandy, one of the 10+2 lecturer said that they are working in the department from last ten years and from time to time many promises have been made with them by the government regard framing of the proper job policy.
“Government is doing nothing on the ground level for 10+2 lecturers,” he said.
“If the government of Jammu and Kashmir can absorb 60,000 daily rated workers and casual labours and CPWs under SRO 520 and 42000 RRTS, why not the highly qualified scholars who served the education department especially in the far-flung areas of Jammu and Kashmir,” they said.
The lectures requested Lt Governor to provide them secure job policy under any new SRO.
