CPW of education dept demand wages as per new act

SRINAGAR: Contingent Paid Workers (CPW) of the education department from all the districts of Kashmir on Monday held a protest here in Srinagar demanding the wages as per the Minimum Wages Act.
The protesters from various districts of the Kashmir valley assembled here press enclave and shouted the slogans against the government for not fulfilling their demands.
The protesters said that we are demanding the government to create a job policy and should provide us the benefits of Minimum Wages Act.
“We demand that the government to regularize as most of the youths are much qualified working in the education department as a Contingent paid Workers” said one of the protesters Irshad Ahmad..
President of the association, Mohammad Shafi Reshi said “we are on job 24 hours in the school .The government should also think about us. We have every right to get regularized.
“It is the only the Contingent paid workers which are performing their duties regularly , but the demands of the CPW’s has never fulfilled by the government ” Mir said.
Adding that If the government is going to announce the minimum wages act for all daily wagers, in case the government fails to include CPW’s, that will be a great injustice to us.
