Budgam villagers slam PDD over unscheduled power cuts

BUDGAM: Several villages of Beerwah Tehsil of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Saturday expressed their strong resentment against Power Development Department (PDD) over unscheduled power cuts and said it is affecting their work.
Villages of Beerwahincluding Chewdara, Ohangam, Mirpora, Gundipora, Sonpah, Hayat Pora, Otilgam,Wani Huma, Atina and Chak have been worst affected due to the unscheduled power cuts.
Villagers said that they are facing difficulties during this cold winter season and the government is least bothered to redress their complaints.
Gowhar Bashir Sheikh, a resident of Chewdarasaid thatdue to unscheduled power cuts, the lives of people have been becomemiserable as the department is not following proper timing schedule.
“It is not the problem of one village.Several villages are affected,”he said.
Samer Ahmad, another local said the students are not able to complete their winter vaccination work due to lack of electricity.
The locals appealed to Chief Engineer of PDD to address their grievances.
When contacted Chief Engineer PDD, Ajaz Ahmad Dar told Kashmir Reader the that they will look into the matter and properservice will be given to these areas.
