3 Jaish militants killed in Tral gunfight

Srinagar: Three militants affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammad were killed in Tral gunfight on Saturday.
The encounter erupted in the morning after government forces laid cordon and search operation in Hari village in south Kashmir’s Tral.
During searches, militants hiding in the area opened fire on forces ensuing into an encounter.
Police spokesperson on Twitter confirmed that two militants trapped in the area were killed.
“#Awantipora #encounter update: In the exchange of fire two #terrorists have been #killed. Operation is in progress. Further details shall follow,” the Kashmir zone police said on Twitter.
Initial reports suggest Qari Yasir, Jaish’s top commander was among the three militants trapped in the area.
On Wednesday, forces killed another militant in Awantipora, who was later identified by a senior police officer as a Pakistani national affiliated Jaish-e-Mohammad outfit.
The “most wanted” militant was operating under code names “Abu Saifullah” and “Abu Qasim” and was active in south Kashmir for the past over one and a half years, the officer said.
