9 government schools draw blank in class 10 exams

Srinagar: Nine government schools have registered zero percent results in class 10 annual examination results declared a day ago.
Three schools in Anantnag- Government High School Issoo, Government High School Kachwan and Government High School Chree have drawn a blank, according to the data compiled by the Board of School Education (BOSE).
A meagre five students each had appeared in the class 10 annual examinations from High School Issoo and High School Kachwan, only 4 students had appeared in the annual examination from Chree school. All 14 students, however, could not qualify the exams.
In north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, Government High School Katson and High School Panar where five and 21 students respectively appeared in the annual examination, also failed to clear exams.
Likewise, Government High School Shalnar, Government High School Kalantara Payeen, Government Higher Secondary School Guffan Yaripora and Government High School, Moori in Budgam, Baramulla, Kulgam and Kupwara districts, where a meager 8, 6,7 and 4 students respectively had appeared in the class 10 annual examination have registered zero percent results.
Besides, three private schools, two in Bandipora and one in Srinagar, registered zero percent results in the annual examination.
As per the data compiled by the BOSE, 41 schools have registered below par results zero to 20 percent in the class 10 annual examination results.
