BARAMULLA: All vegetable vendors along with butchers on Thursday closed their outlets in the town in protest against what it called an outdated rate list that has been issued by the district administration.
The protesting traders said that they cannot follow the rate schedule put forth by the district administration as it is not in line with the present prevent market rates.
Nazir Ahmad one of the vendors told Kashmir Reader that the authorities have asked them to sell potatoes at Rs 20 per kilogram while they are purchasing it at the same price.
They traders said that on daily basis there is surge in the vegetable prices and mutton, so the present prices list is not applicable.
Meanwhile, officials from District administration said that traders will have to follow the rate list issued by them and they will not let traders apply their rates as per their will.
