AWANTIPORA: Police in Awantipora have arrested two drug peddlers including a lady and recovered two kilograms of Charas from a village in Awantipora Pulwama.
SP Awantipora Tahir Saleem during a press conference on Monday that two persons including one lady Dilshada) wife of Farooq Ahmad Mir resident of Patipora Lassipora Pulwama and Nazir Ahmad Dar resident of Hajipora Lassipora Pulwama were arrested near Beighpora Reshipora crossing area of Awantipora along with two kilograms of charas from their possession.
He said that police had information that said persons were carrying charas in a auto load carrier bearing registration no JK13E-2377 to deliver it Anantnag area. He added that a naka was setup at Reshipora Beighpora crossing and an auto load carried was intercepted. “After searching the auto police recovered two kilograms of charas”. He said that the two people including a lady were arrested and taken into custody.
A case FIR No 1/ 2020 under section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered against them.
Police will take strict action against peddlers.
