Uri villagers seek restoration of road link

BARAMULLA: The residents of Churanda and Batgran in Uri have demanded immediate restoration of the road connecting them to Tehsil Headquaters Uri.
The residents said that this 12 km vital link that was laid under PMGSY has been blocked for more than 20 days now after a landslide trigged by rains left the link blocked at KohiNalla spot.
Shabir Ahamd Awan a local from Churanda said that the village has in recent past witnessed heavy shelling during the cross-LoC exchange of fire, and the blockade of the road hampered movement of the locals top Uri. Also it restricted the immediate medial attention to the injured.

He added that in that in the coming days they will restore the connectivity.
