Srinagar: Forty two languishing projects will be completed by March 2020 while another 45 projects will be completed by December 2020, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary said on Friday.
During a review meeting, he was informed that all these projects are under fast-paced execution for their earliest completion adding that periodic reviews are being held to take stock of their progress, an official handout
said.
It said the periodic reviews include concurrent evaluation and third-party monitoring.
The projects are worth over Rs 880 crore with the balance funding of around Rs 400 crore provided by Jammu & Kashmir Infrastructure Development Financial Corporation (JKIDFC).
They include 17 sports, 16 water, 8 bridges, 5 power, 5 technical education, 3 school education, 2 higher education and 1 health projects.
In over 30 projects, the district administration has resolved long-pending issues of land acquisition and compensation thereby enabling their resumption and completion at the earliest, it said.
The meeting was informed that the remaining five projects are facing delay due to poor response in tendering and that these have been entrusted to a district-level committee for a review aimed at resolution of related
issues.
Choudhary said that fortnightly review of progress of work on these projects will be conducted at the district level in order to ensure immediate resolution of associated issues and their completion within their stipulated
time-frame.
