Two-way traffic on Srinagar-Jammu highway

SRINAGAR: Light-motor vehicles plied from both sides on Srinagar-Jammu national highway on Tuesday while trucks from Jammu to Srinagar were allowed to operate on the road.
Superintendent of Police Traffic (Rural) Muzaffar Shah said that LMVs were allowed to proceed from both sides on the highway on Tuesday.
According to him, LMVs will be allowed to ply on both sides today subject to fair weather.
Shah said that heavy motor vehicles will be allowed to ply from Srinagar to Jammu today.
Meanwhile, Srinagar-Leh and historic Mughal road also remained closed for the traffic due to recent snowfall. Reports said snow has accumulated at various places on these two roads and due to sub-zero temperatures; the roads
have turned slippery forcing the authorities to stop the movement of traffic.
