BARAMULLA: Locals in north Kashmir’s Pattan said that the BSNL exchange in their area has become non-functional and “nothing is done to restore it”.
They said that the exchange was initially set to cater to more than 1000 customers, but the services are in complete disarray.
“The exchange does not even operate during power cuts,” they complained.
Mohamamd Sharief, a BSNL consumer told Kashmir reader that there is severe shortage of technical staff at the exchange and its machinery has become obsolete and it does not operate whenever power supply is snapped in the
area.
Customers here are now opting to other operators.
The locals said that the officials should immediately restore this exchange.
