BARAMULLA: Nearly eight village close to LoC in Boniyar Uri area have been without power since recent snowfall and the locals said that there has been least effort by the Power Development Department (PDD) to restore the supply.
The residents of Chutali, Banali, Meganand, Jabri, Dodran, Gagarhill held a protest at Boniyar seeking attention of the authorities towards their power woes.
“Government should not ignore the residents close to LoC,” they said. Executive Engineer PDD Baramulla, Dalbir Singh said that many areas close to LoC are snow-bound and the roads leading there have not yet opened.
He assured that they will visit these areas with additional staff to ensure that essential supplies are restored. He added that the it will take a week to carry out complete restoration of power in these areas.
