PDP delegation postpones meeting detained Mehbooba

Srinagar: A delegation of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has deferred its meet with the detained party chief Mehbooba Mufti for a week after the authorities asked them to reach Srinagar at a short
notice.
PDP General Secretary Ved Mahajan told KNS that 15-member delegation has deferred its meeting with Mufti who is currently under detention in Srinagar.
He said they were asked to report to Srinagar by 11am from Jammu for meeting the party president, which was not possible.
“District Magistrate Srinagar communicated us on Sunday 05:00 pm and asked us to report Srinagar by next day (Monday) at 11:00 am. It was impossible for us as many party leaders who were part
of delegation had to come from Kishtwar and other far flung areas,” PDP general secretary said.
The government launched a crackdown against the political parties, trade union leaders and lawyers in Jammu and Kashmir and detained them to prevent protests against the abrogation of Article
370. They include former three chief ministers including Mehbooba Mufti.
After a delegation of NC was allowed to meet jailed Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah, PDP approached the Gvernor-led administration to seek permission for meeting Mufti.
