Elite commandos airdropped in Gangbal

Srinagar: The Indian army airdropped elite commandos in the forests of Gangbal in central Kashmir’s Gandarbal district as the trek is 4 to 5 hours from the last accessible road, the DNA reported.
The Indian Army, according to sources quoted by the newspaper, has also established a temporary base camp in the mountains to circle the hiding militants as they may try to slip away given the
location of the area.
Two militants have been killed in last 10 days when the first contact fire was established between the Indian army and militants. Sources in the police believe that all the militants in the area have
infiltrated recently through the Gurez sector of Bandipora in north Kashmir. The killed militants according to sources have been buried with the help of local villagers.
This is one of the biggest anti-militancy operations launched in the Kashmir valley after the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was ended on August 5.
