Streamlining the traffic: Even a former cop was not spared

Srinagar: Streamlining the traffic in the capital city seems to be the priority for the police who are ensuring that those violating the law have to pay for it too.

On Wednesday a former cop, Afzal Mukhdoomi who has served as PA to almost all the DG’s the state has had, was questioned by a lady cop, Sandeep Kaur near Gupkar road for not wearing a helmet.

” I was stopped and reprimanded for not wearing a helmet as my two wheeler was stopped by the cops who were on duty near the Gupkar road,” Mukhdoomi said.

He said that the cops lead by Sandeep Kaur, an upright officer checked all the documents and questioned me about not taking precautions while driving a two wheeler.

“I felt a bit embraced as the officer had joined her duties before me when I was serving as an Administrative Officer in the PHQ,” Makhdoomi added.

He said that the efforts of the cops to streamline the traffic are commendable and citizens should respect the laws as they are beneficial for them in the long run.
