Kulgam admin takes stock of tourist facilities at Aharbal

Kulgam: District Development Commissioner, Kulgam, Talat Parvez today visited Aharbal to take stock of the tourist infrastructure in place and to discuss various issues for boosting of tourist inflow.

The DDC after visiting the Aharbal fall passed directions for the beautification of waterfall area. He directed the CEO Aharbal Development Authority to get the fall area fenced so that tourists enjoy the scenic beauty more closely. Besides, he passed instructions for the development of passenger suspension bridge.

Owing to the decreasing height of the waterfall, the modus operandi regarding restoration of the same was discussed threadbare besides maximising the water discharge in Aharbal canal.

Meanwhile, he also directed concerned officials to take effective measures for flood mitigation by taking long term, medium term and short-term measures which were chalked out in the meeting held at Aharbal Development Authority office chambers.

The DDC also sought early submission of DPRs for the upgradation infrastructure for catering the tourism flow. The DDC also called for the measures for boosting the adventure tourism in Aharbal.

During the visit, the DDC was accompanied by CEO ADA, Mohammad Shafi Kakroo, SDM D.H Pora, Umer Shafi Pandit and other officers of Tourism Department.
