Overloading goes unchecked on Dooru Kapran road

 

Anantnag: In absence of proper checking by authorities, the buses plying through Dooru Verinag Kapran road are taking the passengers for a ‘ride’.

The passengers especially students alleged that the number of vehicles during the morning and evening hours to route are deliberately remaining off the roads every day to pave way for huge over loading for rest of vehicles to mint money.

They said that the failure of the traffic department to check overloading in the buses is taking a heavy toll on the passengers epically on the students.

They said that the passengers especially students can be seen either hanging on the footsteps of the buses, or sitting on the rooftop. “The overloading in buses has become nuisance for the passengers especially to the female students who have to reach Government Degree College Dooru from a long distance,” they said.

A female student while talking to ‘Kashmir Vision’ said that “We are being forced to face hardships to reach our college. The overloading in the busses often led to harassment of female students.”

She said that the authorities must take action in this regard so that passengers’ especially female students could heave a sigh of relief.

Another student, Suhail Ahmad said that they also staged protest last year in this regardbut unfortunately the demands were not fulfilled.

They appealed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Traffic, Basant rath to take action in this regard.

Meanwhile, Station House Officer (SHO) Dooru, Mudasir Hussain said that they have taken up the issue with the schools and colleges.

“Nobody will be allowed to violate the traffic rules,” he said, adding that immediate action will be taken against the norm violators.
