India, Pak exchange fire along LoC in Uri Sector

Baramulla: India and Pakistan armies on Saturday exchanged heavy fire along the Line of Control in Uri Sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

“Pakistani Army again on Saturday targeted forward Indian posts and villages in Uri Sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district” an official said.

He said that Pakistani troops from across the border again resorted to ceasefire violation in Tilawari and Silikote area of Hajipeer sector of Uri on Saturday whic was retaliated by the Indian army.

However there was no immediate report of any casualty, he added.

Meanwhile the exchange of fire between the two sides was going on when last reports came in.

Pertinently, several hundred border residents of Uri sector are living in government set-up relief camps at safer places since two days after being displaced by cross-border shelling.

At least three residential houses were damaged while three persons including one lady also sustained injuries.
