India-Pak armies trade fire in Uri, 3 injured

Srinagar: The armies of India and Pakistan on Monday evening exchanged fire and mortar shelling along LoC in Hajipeer area of Uri sector, reports said.

According to the reports, the gunfire and mortar shelling was going on in Charanda, Silikote area of Hajipeer sector of Uri when this report was filed.

The police said that there was no report of any causality or loss of property.

“Cease Fire violation by Pakistani Army in Churanda, Silikote area of Hajipeer Sector of Uri. No loss of life and property,” police said.

Meanwhile, sources said that three civilians sustained injuries in the firing.

“All the three civilians have been rushed to a hospital for treatment,” the sources added.

Earlier, last month the Indian army claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid in the same sector.
