Srinagar: Government on Tuesday said that 280 youth have joined militancy during last three years in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Total number of 280 youths joined militancy in the last three years. 66 youths joined in 2015, 88 in 2016 and 126 in 2017,” Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said while replying to a written question by a legislator.
Mehbooba said that some separatist leaders including two women were detained in terms of the provisions of the Public Safety Act (PSA) to prevent them from acting in any manner prejudicial to the security of the state or maintenance of the public order. (GNS)
