Posters reiterating Zakir Musa’s stance surface in North Kashmir

Srinagar: Reiterating his stance over the ‘Shariya’ rule in Kashmir, posters depicting Zakir Musa and his position have surfaced in North Kashmir’s Watergam area for the first time.

The posters which have the picture of the head of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind Zakir Rashid Bhat alias Zakir Musa, has slogans written like “No to Nationalism, No to Democracy, Kashmir Banega Dara-Ul-Islam.”

Pertinently, this is for the first time, Ansar Gazwat ul Hind has communicated with the people at the local level and many believe that the poster might be fake.

Earlier, Zakir Musa communicated through social media channel Al-Hurr and had asked people not to believe any other source of news about him or his group.

Meanwhile, earlier, this month, the Union government has said that Zakir Musa has the support of fewer than ten militants and also asserted that Musa’s actions remain confined to social media, so far.

In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Home Hansraj Gangaram Ahir said on Wednesday, “Nothing has been established on the ground that ISIS is operating in any part of Kashmir valley.”

Later in the afternoon, according to the reports, a police party reached the spot in Watergam area where the posters were pasted. The police tore down the posters.
