NHM employees call off strike till Feb 5

Srinagar: After staying away from their duties for last more than one month now, National Health Mission (NHM) employees Tuesday called off their strike till February 5, after the govt formed a four-member committee to look into their demand of regularization.

Spokesperson, NHM employees Union, Abdul Rouf, while talking to Kashmir Vision said that their representatives Monday held a meeting with MoS Health, Asiea Naqash, wherein their demands were discussed threadbare.

“All of our demands, including the major one, which is the regularization, were discussed,” he said.

A four-member committee was formed on the spot, the committee, which will look into the recommendations put forth by the previous committee, “there will be the members from Health department, finance and GAD in the committee,” the Spokesperson said.

“The govt order in this regard is awaited and we are expecting that it will come out in a day or two, and till then we have called off the strike that is Feb 5,” he said.

 

Pertinently, NHM workers are demanding regularization of their services, including the benefits that the regular employees are getting.
