Students hit roads over ‘biased’ marking in semester exam in north Kashmir

Sopore: Scores of students of the Sopore Degree college on Monday while alleging Kashmir University for biased marking in semester exam, hit the roads demanding re-checking of papers.

According to reports Ist year students of Degree College Sopore staged a protest demonstration against Kashmir University for biased marking in semester exam of UG first semester batch 2016 which as per protesting students is not fair with them.

Raising slogans against the university authorities, the students blocked the road outside college the and were demanding re-checking of their answer scripts. However police has reached on spot and later took control of the situstion.

Protesting students said that around 50 % of the students have been declared fail in one or the other subjects which seems fishy and a deliberate attempt of Kashmir University.

Protesting students were demanding early intervention of College and Kashmir University (KU) authorities so as to get re-evaluation of their answer scripts at an earliest.

Meanwhile principal of the college Prof Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Dar received in writing complaint from the protesting students and he assured them to take their grievance to Kashmir university.

Meanwhile in Handwara area of north Kashmir, students of Handwara Degree College also held a protest demonstration, demanding rechecking of papers.
