Oppn stages walk-out from assembly over border shelling issue

Jammu: The Opposition National Conference and Congress MLAs today staged walk-out from the Legislative Assembly against PDP-BJP government over casualties on International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC).

Lashing out at BJP Oppostion members of NC and Congress accused it of “drama and failing” in safeguarding the lives of those living along the IB and LoC.

The NC targeted the MoS in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh who, Ali Mohammad Sagar said has accused opposition parties of “being anti-national”.

“What has Dr Jitendra Singh said? This is condemnable,” NC leader Ali Mohammad Sagar told the house. “Are we anti-nationals? BJP has failed in safeguarding the lives of people.”

The NC and Congress MLAs raised massive anti-BJP slogans asking the right wing party “where is your 56-inch chest” in apparent reference to PM Narendra Modi.

The BJP MLAs raised anti-Pakistan slogans.

However, the opposition members retorted them: “you only know slogans.”

Sagar said that the government was irresponsible as it had not given any statement in the house, so far.

Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri, told the house government will put forth its version after the question hour.

However,  NC and Congress MLAs staged walk-out from the house.
