Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti today expressed her anguish over the “gruesome” murder of eight-year-old girl, belonging to nomadic Bakerwal community in Kathua district.
“Outraged by the heinous incident in which a young Bakerwal girl has lost her life. Incidents like this will be investigated expeditiously & the guilty will be punished,” she wrote on Twitter.
Earlier in the day, opposition parties staged a walkout from the Legislative Assembly to protest against the murder of the girl of Bakerwal community in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The body of the girl, who was allegedly abducted a week ago, was recovered yesterday from bushes in Hiranagar.
