Year on, CDPO Qazigund forces widow to make rounds of Govt offices

Anantnag: From last one year, the widow hailing from South Kashmir’s Kulgam district has been forced to move from pillar to post to seek ‘unwanted documents’ to get appointed as the helper, a vacant post in Anganwadi.
A senior government official in Qazigund area of Kulgam district has been giving different tasks to the widow, asking her to ‘collect’ documents from other departments.
The process continued for almost a year now while the widow, Parveena Banoo, wife of Late Nazir Ahmad Wani of Kurigam Qazigund hardly sees any relief in sight.
Parveena alleged that the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) has forced her to make rounds of the government offices to collect some unwanted documents.
“Due to the poor condition at my home after the death of my husband, I approached to the nearby Anganwadi office to seek some job to earn bread for my family,” she said, a year has passed now but nobody is listening to my demands,” she said.
She said that the post is lying vacant as a lady Aatiqa Banoo resigned from the post after the death of her husband.
Parveena who is blessed with four daughters and one son was recommended by the Auquaf Islamia Committee Kurigam for the said post, keeping in view of her poor fiscal condition.
Following the recommendation by the Committee, Parveena approached Programme ICDS officer Anantnag who referred her letter to CDPO Qazigund vide No. DPO/ICDS/ANG/2017/8811-12 Dated 18-09-2017 for necessary report in this regard.
She said that the CDPO Qazigund from past one year is seeking different types of documents from her.
Parveena believes that the CDPO is trying to stop her from seeking the job as other residents of the village having good source of income and political approach are too applying for the post.
Programme officer of ICDS, Muhammad Ashraf said told Kashmir Vision that that he will look into the matter. “I will talk to the CDPO in this regard and will see what has happened with the case of a lady,” he said.
