Youth goes missing in Sopore, family appeals for help 

Sopore: A 32-year shopkeeper from Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district has gone missing from his shop on Tuesday this week.

Reports said that on Dec 26, a gold smith identified as Tariq Ahmad Malik, son of Ghulam Rasool of Kalaroos Kupwara at present Muslim peer Sopore, owner of Karat Line gold shop at Chota Bazaar Sopore went missing from his shop at about 07 pm.

The family and Traders Federation Sopore has sought help from police and locals to trace the missing shopkeeper.

“We have no whereabouts of Tariq,” said his family and Traders federation.

President of Gold Smiths Association Sopore, Haji Firdous Ahmad Khan said, “We have registered his missing report at police station Sopore on 27th of December. Police party in presence of Traders federation opened the shop and found the empty locker there.”

“We have apprehensions that he has been kidnapped with gold worth lakhs,” said traders federation Sopore president Haji Mohammad Ashraf Ganaie.

He said they appealed the police to start necessary investigation to trace the young shopkeeper.

They said anybody having any information regarding the missing person may please contact Police Station Sopore.
