JKDCC condemns use of force on NHM employees

Srinagar: Doctors bodies including  Doctors Association Kashmir, Doctors Association Jammu, JK Society for Consultant Doctors, Society of Dental Surgeons J& K , Private Practictioners Association, Chenab Valley Doctors Association today condemned the use of force on the protesting NHM employees.

While taking a dig at the state for the apathetic approach towards the genuine aspirations of protesting NHM employees the Doctors’ body highlighted the suffering of masses for want of proper functioning of hospitals due to unavailable NHM staff.

“NHM staff is an important component of healthcare system and the present strike has proved the importance and worth of of this NHM work force” a statement from JKDCC issued here said.

“JKDCC stands by the genuine aspirations of NHM staff. JKDCC expresses displeasure over the use of might and force on the democratically protesting NHM employees and condemns the arrest of Provincial President Dr Rohit Seth and District President Anantnag Irfan Kadoo” the statement added.

JKDCC urged the government to comply with the orders of honorable Supreme Court and provide NHM employees equal pay for equal work and other facilities like maternity leave on the pattern of other employees.

Meanwhile Dr Balvinder President DAJ, Dr Wangchuk ALDWA, Dr Nazir Wani JKSCD, and Dr Owais H. Dar  DAK and Dr Imtiyaz Banday SDSJK extended full support to NHM employees protesting democratically for their genuine issues.

JKDCC Convener Dr M Y Tak  while expressing solidarity with  Dr Rohit Seth(Provincial President),Dr Hamid Parrey(Vice President), Mr Shaheen Nawaz (President),Mr Altaf A. Bhat(Vice President) Mr Faizan Tramboo and Mr Raof (Spokesmen) at this crucial juncture  has urged government to bring an end to the misery of public by positively responding to protesting NHM employees in a respected manner.

JKDCC  with it’s member associations also pledged to participate in the protest by wearing a black arm band.
