J&K Cabinet likely to meet today

Srinagar: The state cabinet is likely to meet today to discuss issues concerning the conduct of upcoming budget session of the assembly for which the speaker assembly has already issued calendar and take decisions on promotions in civil and police administration.

Top sources disclosed to KNS that cabinet would discuss the issues concerning conduct of the budget session of the assembly scheduled to commence on 2nd January 2018 with Governor’s address to the joint session of state legislature. The cabinet is likely to take decisions on promotion of six IPS officers of IGP ranks as ADGPs. Those likely to be promoted by the cabinet 1994 IPS batch officers SJM Gillani (Director, vigilance, J&K), Abdul Gani Mir (IGP, CID), Muhammad Sulaiman Salaria (director, SKPA), Alok Puri (IGP, Crime Branch), Muneer Ahmad Khan (IGP, Kashmir range) and Deepak Kumar (on deputation with the heavy engineering corporation limited, Ranchi), as ADGPs. The cabinet is also schedule to take decisions on proposals seeking promotion of many KAS and IAS officers.
