JRL holds protest against the civilian killings

Srinagar: The Joint resistance Leadership (JRL) workers today organized a protest in Lal Chowk area of Srinagar against the recent civilian killings in the valley.

According to the reports, the workers of the amalgam raised slogans in favour of Azadi and against the ruling government. The rally was led by Hakim Abdul Rashid of Hurriyat (G), Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi of Hurriyat (M) and Noor Muhammad Kalwal of JKLF.

“We want to know why an innocent driver Asif Iqbal was killed in cold blood. How long this bloodshed will go on?” Rashid said.

He said that on one hand government brags about democracy and on the other hand it does not allow the separatist leaders to hold the peaceful rallies.

Hurriyat (M) leader Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi said that Kashmiris are not safe even in Kashmir. “We have been fighting for our rights since 1947 and time is not so far away when we will see the dawn of freedom,” Sofi said.

Noor Muhammad Kalwal said that it has become a normal thing for the government to kill innocent persons every other day.

“It has become a normal thing that every other day one or two civilians are killed and the killing is being celebrated by the forces,” Kalwal said.
