Srinagar: Police on Monday busted a militant hideout in Chandergair village of Hajin in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
According to the sources, a cordon-and-search-operation was launched by a joint team of forces around 10:30 pm last night.
During the search operation, forces recovered arms and ammunition from the cowshed of Ab Rehman Parrey, son of Muhammad Anwar Parrey, a resident of Chandergeer Hajin.
Reports said that six militants, including the nephew of Zaki ur Rehman Lakhvi, and an IAF GARUD commando were killed in a gunfight that erupted in the house of same owner.
