Abdul Haq reviews implementation of CM’s commitments

Kupwara: Minister for Rural Development Panchayat Raj, Law and Justice Abdul Haq Khan Wednesday chaired a meeting of officers at Kupwara district to review the progress of implementation of CM commitments made by her at the Public Durbar in the district.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Khalid Jahangir, SSP Shamsher Hussain and other senior officers of the district.

The minister was informed that during the public Durbar, 157 decisions were taken for implementation by various departments including R&B, RDD, JKPCC, PHE, I&FC and education department and others.

The DC Kupwara informed the minister about the status of various works taken up after the directions by the Chief Minister. Minister was informed that out of total 157 decisions, 95 decisions are developmental works and work on all these 95-developmental works are in progress.

Meeting was informed that so far 35 decisions have been implemented and rest are under active progress while the remaining 62 decisions are of administrative nature and action on all these administrative decisions have also been initiated.

Abdul Haq was further informed that the second bridge at Kupwara will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 5 crore while development of playgrounds and stadiums are under progress in the district at various places.

It was further given out in the meeting that R&B department is carrying out construction of various bridges and roads in the district while 12 storage tanks in Kandi areas will be completed by the end of this year for which Rs 50 lakhs have been released.

Minister was informed that the list of girls for providing them scooties has been taken up and feasibility report for upgradation of schools has also been submitted while the school buildings completed will be taken over immediately.

The RDD Minister while reviewing the implementation of the decisions issued directions to the officers to speed up the implementation of the decisions and directed the officers to complete the works immediately.

The Minister while speaking on the occasion expressed satisfaction over the performance of the executing agencies that carried out various developmental activities under the CMs commitments.
