Aerial firing in Qazigund after clashes erupt during CASO  

Kulgam: Forces restored to aerial firing after they were pelted with stones by youth during a cordon and search operation in Churat village of Qazigund area in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

Sources said that soon after search operation youth took to streets and started pelting stones on government forces who retaliated with aerial firing.

Official sources said that some aerial shots were fired towards protesters who were trying to disrupt the operation and  so far no contact has been established with militants.

Earlier Astan Mohalla of Churat village was cordoned off by 1st RR of army and SOG Kulgam after receiving inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

Clashes were going on when reports last came in.
