Newly recruited employees protest against SRO-202

Srinagar: Scores of youth recruited under the New Job Policy, Sunday, held a protest demonstration in Press enclave Srinagar demanding revocation of SRO-202.

Raising the issue, the protesting employees described the SRO 202 (NewJob Policy) ‘descriminatory’ , saying its clause 8 & 9 have already been repealed by the Jammu and Kashmir High Court for its employees, which has been implemented by the Institute of Management Public Administration and Rural Department (IMPA), thus giving much needed respite to the employees.

Terming the New Job Policy as ‘draconian’ , the engraved protesters demanded revocation of the policy.

“This is a draconian job policy, where in highly educated youth are being paid a meagre salary of 7000_8000 Rupees per month” Arif Hussain one of the protesting employee said.

“The New Job Policy is totally against the Supreme Court guidelines which invoked minimum wages act and equal pay for equal work judgement” another protester said.

The protesters also expressed their surprise over the recent notification of J&K Service Selection Board (JKSSB) for Kashmiri Migrants which was kept out of this New Job Policy (SRO 202).
