CM must visit prisoners, bring them back to Valley jails: Dr Farooq

Srinagar: Stating that his statements over the PaK were not ‘irrational’, former chief minister and National Conference’s (NC) president, Dr Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday said that the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti instead of speaking to Home Secretary must visit the prisoners on her own to see their plights.

Dr Farooq while talking to reporters here said that Mehbooba must visit the jails on her own to see the plights of Kashmiri prisoners whom she sent to these jails. “She should bring the prisoners back to Kashmir jails in case their situation is deteriorating in outside jails,” Dr Farooq added.

He said that whatever he spoke over the Pak is truth and is not irrational at all. “Four wars were fought but nothing has been achieved. I believe the time has come to sit and find a solution that would accommodate the people of Pakistan, India and Jammu and Kashmir including Ladakh,” he said.

Reacting to the statement of Parvez Musharraf wherein he had appreciated the Lashkar-e-Toiba’s actions in Kashmir, Dr Farooq said, “It is they who formed such groups who are doing their work. They dug the graves for other countries but fell into it itself. I want to tell them that do support any such organizations who will destroy not only Pakistan but other countries as well.”
