At last this story had a ‘happy ending’

Srinagar: A woman who had come all the way from Indonesia to meet his ‘love of the life’ finally tasted success, after police helped her to trace the man whom she had come to meet. The duo had become friends while chatting on social networking site facebook.

“The Kashmiri boyfriend had gone ‘missing’ and his girlfriend came all the way from Indonesia to meet him,” said a police official. He said that it was due to swift action by the tourism police, the boyfriend was located, to ensure the meeting of the ‘two lovers’.

Hasnaini Kamran, 35, arrived here on Monday evening to meet her boyfriend, only to see two strangers to receive her at the Srinagar Airport.

Kamran refused to go with the two boys – Mukhtar Mir and Nazir Mir of Budgam – and insisted that she should be taken to her boyfriend.

After the timely intervention of Tourism Police, the woman was taken to a houseboat in the famed Dal Lake for night stay till her boyfriend was located.

“My boyfriend is supposed to pick me up here at the airport,” Kamran told the police at the airport.

However, the boy was inaccessible to her and could not be contacted for the whole day.

After roping in cyber experts, the tourism police identified the boyfriend as Zulfikar Malla of Sumbal in Bandipora district.

Malla told police that he has not sent any person to receive his girlfriend. “All the three were then detained by Tourist police and taken into custody,” police sources said.

“Both the persons had met on Facebook and had planned to meet in Kashmir. However, the boyfriend didn’t turn up to receive her at the Airport,” Senior Superintendent of police Tourism, Amarjit Singh said.

Singh said the woman was sent for a night stay to a houseboat till her boyfriend was found on Tuesday. “The woman has been handed over to her boyfriend,” he said.
