Baramulla: Prompt police action led to the arrest of a person who had allegedly abducted a minor girl from Kreeri town of the north Kashmir within hours of the incident, police said.
A person approached Kreeri police station complaining that his 16-year-old daughter (name withheld) was abducted by one, Hilal Ahmad Chopan of Tarren-Tangmarg last evening.
Police team from Kreeri and Tangmarg swung into action and arrested the accused after recovering the girl from his possession from Tangmarg area. The girl was restored to the family within hours of the incident.
People of the area have hailed the police teams for the prompt action.
