Srinagar: A militant has been killed in an encounter that started in Chopan Mohallah, Seer area of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.
“Acting on a specific information a joint team of 42RR, SOG Tral and CRPF Cordoned off the Chopan Mohalla area of Tral following a specific input about the presence of some militants”, a police said.
As the joint team of forces intensified the searches, the hiding militants opened fire triggering off an encounter.
So far a militant reportedly identified as Adil Chopan has been, the offIcial said, adding that the search operation is still going on in the area.
