Anti-militancy operation continues in Kund area of Qazigund: IG

Srinagar: Inspector general of Police, Kashmir, Munir Khan today said that the anti-militancy operation in south Kashmir’s Kund village is going on since 14, November.

Addressing a press conference here in Srinagar, Khan said that the operation is going on since Tuesday morning as there are inputs about the presence of three more militants in the area.

Khan told reporters that one of the arrested militants was injured during the gunfight and is under treatment in hospital. Khan identified the arrested militants as Atta Mohammad Malik, Shams ul Wiqar and Bilal Sheikh. He said that Atta was arrested in an injured state and is presently hospitalized.

Khan further said that Pakistan is using social media to recruit militants in Kashmir. Khan said, “Relentless social media campaign has been started by Pakistan to lure youth to join militancy.”
