Situation improved because of people, says DGP

Srinagar: Director General of J&K police has said that “improvement” in Kashmir situation was “not only becauase” of raids conducted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

DGP SP Vaid has further said that there was ‘decrease’ in stone pelting incidents by 90% in the restive region.

Talking to a news agency in Jammu, Vaid said, “it is a huge change. There is not even a single incident taking place in the whole day. At times in the whole week, there is no incident of stone pelting taking place.”

”There are many factors responsible for improvement in the situation. (For which) the main credit goes to people. Of course, the (NIA) raids helped,” he added.
