As power woes continue, PDD extends miseries of Chanderkoot villagers

 

Kulgam: As the Power woes have already irked the people across the Valley, the Power Development Department (PDD) has extended the miseries of inhabitants of Southern village by failing to repair the transformer that developed technical snag last week.

The residents of Chanderkoot B village of Devsar Tehsil of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district told Kashmir Vision that they are reeling under darkness for last one week as the transformer allotted to the area developed technical snag and is yet to be repaired.

The people of the village alleged that the department is pushing them to the wall as the transformer has not been repaired so far.

Subzar Ahmed, a local resident said that the transformer often gets damaged due to the heavy load in the village.

“The transformer allotted to the village is 63 KV only. We demand the authorities to allot at least 100 KV transformer so that the 115 householders could heave a sigh of relief,” he said.

They urged the concerned authorities to repair the damaged transformer at the earliest.

Superintendent Engineer south circle, Ghulam Rasool Khanday told Kashmir Vision that he will look into the matter.
