Woman’s body fished out from Nallah Sindh

Kangan: Body of a missing woman was Wednesday fished out from Nallah Sindh in Gund area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

The deceased identified as 30-year-old Gulshana Bano, wife of Shabir Ahmad Ahanger, resident of Haknar Gund had gone to nearby forest area early Tuesday to collect firewood.

However, she didn’t return till afternoon following which her husband informed police to investigate the matter.

Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station Gund, Syed Arif told Kashmir Vision that the body was fished out from the Nallah Sindh near Fraw,  few kilometers away from her residence.

“Following the missing report filed by her husband, we launched a search operation and after four hours, the body was fished out from Nallah,” he said.

The deceased woman as per the reports had slipped from a temporary makeshift bridge as her belongings were also recovered near the bridge.

After legal formalities, the body was handed over to her family for last rites.

Meanwhile, Gund police has started further investigation in this regard.
