Srinagar: Suspected militants hurled a grenade on police picket guarding MLA Watchi’s House in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.

According to the sources, the grenade exploded in the premises of the residential house belonging to MLA Watchi Advocate Aijaz Ahmad Mir. The CRPF personnel guarding the house fired several rounds in air after the attack.

“The grenade landed in the premises of the residence and exploded. There was no report of any damage to life or the property,” they said.

Sources added neither the MLA nor his family members were present there at the time of the blast.
