4 injured in clashes triggered by woman’s braid chopping in south Kashmir

Srinagar: At least four youth sustained bullet injured in clashes with government forces following a braid chopping incident in Wallarhama Pahalgam area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

According to sources, braid of local lady was chopped off in the morning and as the news spread in the area, people came on roads & started protesting against administration for failing to curb the culprits involved in braid chopping incidents.

Sources said people pelted stones at an army vehicle and the soldiers in return fired bullets injuring at least 4 persons.

The injured have been shifted to District Hospital Anantnag.

Local sources have identified injured persons as Irshad Ahmad, Zahid Ahmad, Farooq Ahmad and Zahoor Ahmad.

Clashes were going on when last reports came in.
