Describing the unabated incidents of braid chopping as shameful and highly condemnable, Congress today lashed out at both State and Central government for failing to contain such anti-social activities, aiming to create discord in Kashmir Valley.

Strongly condemning the braid chopping, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Secretary urged upon the police higher ups to take effective measures to unravel the mystery behind braid chopping.

“The unabated incidents of this shameful act has disturbed the socio political scenario to a large extent in the valley, besides causing great anguish among the heart and minds of the people especially women folk,” a statement issued here said.

The statement said the braid chopping have already done a great damage to peace in the valley, the ramifications of which would be more serious fraught with dangerous consequences.

“The ruling dispensation of PDP BJP should come out of the deep slumber and ensure that these shameful acts are stopped and the persons involved are punished sternly,” the statement said.

Adding that State government has miserably failed to unravel the mystery behind braid chopping, the statement said that it is a matter of serious concern that the government is not even able to secure the modesty of the women.
