Srinagar: Spokesperson of Jama’at-e-Islami (JeI) Jammu and Kashmir, Advocate Zahid Ali was Wednesday released by Pulwama police after the directions passed by District Court Pulwama, a statement issued by the organization said.

District and Sessions Judge Pulwama today heard the cases of Zahid Ali in which police had implicated him on baseless grounds.

“After hearing the arguments from both the sides, court felt the Zahid Sahibs lodgment is illegal and against the set norms and thus directed authorities to release Advocate Zahid Ali without any further delay,” the statement added.

Earlier as per the statement High Court granted bail to Zahid after hearing pros and cons of a case but police tramples that orders under their feet and detained Zahid in the premises of District Jail Islamabad before coming out from the walls.

Later, police shifted him to Pulwama Police Post and contain him in a series of concocted cases.

Pertinently, Zahid was detained by police and SOG on Aug 4 this year after he was returning from Gopalpora Kulgam where he attended a condolence meet.

Jama’at appealed authorities to release all prisoners without any further delay.
