Indo-Pak’s bitterness due to lingering of K-issue: Hurriyat (M)

Hurriyat Conference (M) on Tuesday expressed serious concern over the loss of human lives on both sides of the LOC and said that the bitterness between the two countries and the war like situation between the armies of India and Pakistan facing each other in the state is only because of the lingering Kashmir dispute.

According to the statement issued here, the Hurriyat (M) spokesman said that it is high time that India and Pakistan take concrete steps to resolve the long pending issue to ensure lasting peace in the region.

The spokesman said that there is no denying the fact that Kashmir dispute is the main reason of tension and rift between the two nuclear neighbours and unless this issue is resolved in accordance with the wishes of the people of J&K, India and Pakistan will continue to remain at loggerheads.

Hurriyat (M) Spokesman urged the United Nations and other world bodies to play their role in ending border skirmishes between India and Pakistan and encourage both the countries to peacefully find out a resolution of the decade’s long conflict which is taking a serious toll on human lives.

The spokesman said that Kashmir issue has become a nuclear flashpoint between the two countries and because of this very issue that three wars were fought by India and Pakistan which resulted in huge destruction of life and property on the both sides.

He said Hurriyat Conference has always advocated better relations between India and Pakistan and supported sustained parleys for the resolution of issues.

The spokesman said the dream of making India as most developed nation of the globe would remain unfulfilled until the core issue of Kashmir is addressed and resolved. He said India should shun its rigid and stubborn approach and adopt flexibility so that endless sufferings of people of Kashmir and the people of sub-continent are mitigated.

He said it is high time that India and Pakistan start a sustained dialogue process with Kashmiris, who are the main stakeholders in the issue.

Hurriyat (M) spokesman expressed solidarity with the families who lost their dear ones in the recent exchange of fire between the India and Pakistani army on LoC and urged the two countries to shun the confrontational approach so that precious human lives are not lost and Protection of precious lives can be ensured.
