Bullet ridden body of youth recovered

Police on Tuesday said that a civilian was abducted and shot dead allegedly by militants in Qazigund area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

A police official said that bullet riddled body with mutilated face was recovered at Sesman village of Qazigund in Kulgam district. He said the body was later identified of Showkat Ahmad Dar of Arwani area of the district.

The police said that the deceased was abducted on Saturday after he was headed for his home after closing the shop where he works with his father. The police have blamed two local militant of LeT for murder of the civilian and said efforts are on to nab them.

Showkat Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Mohi ud din Dar of Arwani Bijabhara, according to family members after completing Masters in Physical Education was helping his father Ghulam Mohi ud Din at his Shop located at Bijbhara.

Showkat was on the his way to home when suddenly some unknown persons dragged him into an already waiting Tevara vehicle and took him away.

“Today morning we got a news that his bullet ridden body was found in Qazigund,” said a relative Bilal Ahmad.

He said that Showkat was lone support for his four sisters and the only hope for his old parents.
