Police has arrested two drug peddler in Qazigund in South Kashmir and recovered 15 kilograms of poppy straw from their possession, a police spokesman said Friday.
A police party of Police Station Qazigund headed by SHO Police Station Qazigund during naka checking near Zig Jawahar Tunnel intercepted a Tata Indica vehicle bearing registration number PB 10BY-4302.
During search 15 kilograms of poppy straw was recovered from the vehicle. Two persons namely Jarnal Singh son of Prakesh Singh and Darshad Singh son of Nishaster Singh, residents of Ludhiana were arrested, the spokesman added.
A case FIR number 255/2017 under section 8/15 NDPS stands registered and investigation was taken up, the spokesman said.
